Details: " Thursday, July 2
3:00pm - Soil Creatures – There are all kinds of critters we see out in the forest, but what about under our feet? Join at the campground shelter to learn more about these cool dirt-digging-dudes!
5:00pm - Animal Tracks – We leave tracks behind whenever we walk on soft grounds, and our animal friends do too! Come to the campground shelter to see what these animal tracks look like!

Friday, July 3
12:00pm - Scavenger Hunt – There are all kinds of things to see at the park, and scavenger hunts make it easy to see a lot of it! Meet at the campground check-in to start the hunt.
2:00pm - Nature’s Toolbox – Animals have built-in tools that they use every day! Come to the campground shelter to take a look at these tools and see how they work.
4:00pm - Mushroom Meander – There’s so MUSHroom for mushrooms in the park! Join us on a short hike to find some of these fun-guys. We will meet at the campground check-in and head to the trail. Please wear sturdy shoes!
7:00pm - Lake Acorn Canoe Float – Take a casual canoe float around Lake Acorn with ranger Tim. You will discover the history and nature of the area in this informative program. All participants must register in advance and there is a $7.00 fee per person. Basic paddling and upper body strength to pick up canoe is required. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Only two people per canoe, ten years or. Meet at the Lake Acorn boat dock at 6:45 pm for instructions. No pets.
8:30pm - Owl Prowl – Join at the campground shelter to take a walk to Church Hollow to hear just WHOOO lives in the forest around us! Be sure to keep your ears open! Please bring a flashlight, and wear insect repellent.

Saturday, July 4
9:00am - Lake Acorn Canoe Float – Take a casual canoe float around Lake Acorn with ranger Tim. You will discover the history and nature of the area in this informative program. All participants must register in advance and there is a $7.00 fee per person. Basic paddling and upper body strength to pick up canoe is required. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Only two people per canoe, ten years or older. Meet at the Lake Acorn boat dock at 8:45 am for instructions. No pets.
12:00pm - Colonial Games – Have you ever wondered how our ancestors’ kids had fun? Meet at the campground shelter to play some colonial games!
2:00pm - Twig Boats – Who can make the fastest boat? Join at the campground shelter to construct your own twig boat and we’ll race them in the creek! Please wear shoes that can get wet.
4:00pm - 4th of July Crafts – Celebrate Independence Day by making some fun crafts that are environmentally friendly! Meet at the campground shelter.
8:30pm - Nature’s Fireworks – Nothing says summer quite like the flickering of a firefly! Meet at the campground shelter to learn more about these little fireworks!

πŸ’₯Red, White and Oooh! Firework Display! 

July 4th 9pm-10pm

Hopkinsville KY 

Details: " Sponsored by WKDZ/WHVO, Red, White & Oooh! — the area's LARGEST fireworks display of the year — is back in 2020! Get plenty of bang for NO bucks (it's a FREE community event) on Saturday, July 4 at Ruff Park. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:15pm.


Due to regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's fireworks display is DRIVE-IN ONLY. Spectators must remain in their vehicles before and during the fireworks begin. There will no food vendors on site. 


Just like 2019, parking will be available in the Hopkinsville Community College and Christian County High School lots, and in various locations around North Drive. There is NO parking at Ruff Park, due to the fireworks drop zone."

Details: "Join us for our 2nd Annual 5th of July Fireworks extravaganza. Why the 5th? You may ask...well we buy a shit ton of discounted fireworks after the 4th. Live music with Davey Bartlett from 1pm-2pm, hot dog and beer specials all day, a parking lot water fight at 5pm and all the explosions once it's dark. 'Merica!"
