If you have been hanging out in Clarksville lately or happen to be a Native, you may have noticed something unusually yummy going on over the last few months. Food Trucks are popping up EVERYWHERE! From Store Front Parking Lots to Local Events...some neighborhoods are even scheduling them to host "dinner parties"...there is definitely no shortage of delicious local eats.
"Dinner With The Trucks", a local Friday night Food Truck Rally, continues to grow in popularity each and every week. Tonight is no exception as it will be their biggest event to date hosting over SIXTEEN trucks from 5-8pm at McGregor Park (690 N Riverside Dr) followed by their Grande Finale Friday the 26th where over 20 trucks will be making an appearance! "Clarksville's Food Truck Round Up of 2020" founder and local food truck advocate Shirley Brown is here to give us the low down on which trucks will be at these events as well as what they will be offering and she is also sprinkling in a few of her favorite "must try" items. So grab the fam and get ready to meet some new "foodie" friends this evening all while supporting our local Food Truck Vendors:)
Food Truck Vendor's Include:
Pop & Dogs- hot dogs, polish sausage and bratwurst. Best selling item is their mac n cheese loaded dog with bacon and BBQ sauce
Off the Grill- pulled pork sandwiches and loaded nacho's, wings (my favorite being sweet bourbon wings) and cheesesteak sandwiches
B's Cheesecakes- she changes her menu every Friday but normally has the Strawberry Shortcake. Their top seller is their frozen cheesecake on a stick
Gray's Smoke Barbecue-ribs, pulled pork but their most popular item other than ribs is their chicken salad sandwiches.
Fire Pit BBQ- brisket, smoked wings, pulled pork and ribs. Ribs are a popular item but my favorite is their brisket loaded nacho's
Linell's – Fried Birria tacos with a side of consomme is by far their top seller but they also have Cali fries and a Cali burrito
Brutha's BBQ- ribs, smoked chicken, polish sausage with peppers and onions, but their fried fish along with their cheesesteak and fried okra is their top item
Kadi's Tacos and More- service breakfast items along with birria taco's, fried avocado taco, stuffed avocado, kebab's and their quesadilla or their fried avocado taco is our favorite
Chillz Italian Ice is like a sorbet in flavors like Strawberry, Mango, pina coloda, Lemon, grape, and blue raspberry.. All his flavors are top sellers
Borinquen Flavors has gourmet hot dogs of all types like Frank's Special with bacon, cheese and french fried onions. They also offer hand squeezed lemonade that they made into slushes.
Flavorz- wings, philly chicken cheesesteak that you can also get as loaded fries and she uses waffle fries.
Vansauwa's Taco's and Vegan Eats- a variety of tacos with a twist of Jerk added. The Jackfruit taco is one of their popular items.
Snowie of Clarksville offers not only shaved ice but has pretzels, nacho's and cheese, hot dogs.His most popular item has been the filled pineapple or tiger's blood flavor.
Tater Headz offers loaded potatoes, french fries and mac n cheese bowls. Their loaded pulled pork potato is one of their popular items but you cannot skip their peach lemonade or dessert (banana pudding and strawberry cake)
Chef Jamie's Food Truck has a deconstructed tamale bowl or Elotes (street corn) but their most popular item is their monster mac n cheese that they offer.
Founding Frothers Coffee has a wide range of coffee's both hot or cold but also offered flavored lemonade like coconut lime, raspberry lime, and coconut lime
Impire Cafe offers seafood like deep fried whole crab legs and lobster tail or what they call Dirty wings which are fried wings with a sauce all over them. Their top seller is the Shrimp Po'boy. My fav!!!
Rib Umm & Soul has ribs, smoked pork chops, smoked ham plates with collard greens, mac n cheese, baked beans or potato salad. Some of the best soul food in town
Eden's Place- smoked pulled turkey, pork and beef. You can get a sandwich or loaded nacho's. My favorite is the Piggy Whipped with smoked ham, a pineapple, cherry with bbq sauce.
That's My Dawg- Nashville based truck that has gourmet hot dogs like Dawg-e-style that is a spiral cut all beef dog with pulled pork, baked beans, and Sweet Baby Ray's sauce. They also serve a plant based hamburger.
SoulFuel BBQ- a simple menu with BBQ menu to include Brisket but top seller is his Memphis style sausage topped with a creamy coleslaw
Kona Ice of Hopkinsville/Clarksville has many varieties of shaved ice to include crafted varieties like Lavender Lemonade, Watermelon Mint, and a Caribbean Cherry
Blazen Soul Food- Soul food of fried or baked chicken and sides of collards green, baked beans, mac n cheese, and potato salad.
